Tim Scott 3
"Back Yard 5" is the most recent painting in my Back Yard series, based on a Polaroid photo I took while looking for interesting compositions around my house. I explore simplified forms with minimal narrative elements. I hope it take time for viewers to interpret what they're seeing -- are those mountains, rooftops, or just purple triangles protruding into the yellow sky? If accepted, this will be in a white frame like "Back Yard 3" and "New Brunswick"

Bio
I am a designer and artist based in Ypsilanti, Michigan. I studied film at Lansing Community College and printmaking at Eastern Michigan University. I’m interested in the relationships between ecology, sociology, and digital spaces. I enjoy people watching and exploring both virtually and in the real world, witnessing the cycle of people affecting their environments and vice versa. My paintings occupy a liminal space between reality and abstraction, between familiar and surreal. I aim to create uncanny scenes with room for introspection, where the ordinary views of suburban living can be seen in a new way.
